Standings and statistics 7

How are the standings calculated?

A win earns three points, a draw one point, a defeat none. When teams are level on points, goal difference decides. The site applies no third criterion — neither head-to-head nor goals scored — because the original portal had none: standings different from the ones people have always read would be a step backwards.

Only league matches count: a cup does not enter the table.

Why does a cup have no standings?

A cup is played as a knockout: there are no points to add up. Its page shows the draw round by round — from the preliminary round to the final — and marks the club that went through in each tie.

What counts as a goal in the top scorers ranking?

A goal scored in open play, from a 10-metre kick or from a penalty. A kick in a penalty shootout does not count: it decides who goes through, not the score.

When players are level, the one with more assists goes ahead, then the one who played fewer matches. A player transferred during the season is attached to the club he played for most.

Why is a scorer missing, or credited with fewer goals than I think?

A goal is only credited to a player if the match sheet names him. Not every match has a sheet, and not every sheet names every scorer: the score is complete, the attribution is not always. The top scorers page shows, for the season displayed, what share of goals is attributed.

What does “season 2025” mean in an address?

A season carries the number of the year in which it ends: season 2025 runs from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025, and is shown as “2024/25”. This is the original portal’s convention, kept so that old links lead to the right season.

This answer is not enough

Why does a club have a different name on an old match?

The site names a club as it was called on the day of the match, with the crest of the time. A link always leads to the page of today’s club, and search finds a club by its former names.

This answer is not enough

What happens to a match lost by forfeit?

It counts in the standings with its administrative score, as the federation counts it. It is not, however, a “biggest win”, nor a match managed by a coach: nobody played it.

A club that withdrew from a competition keeps its matches and goals there, on zero points.

Account 5

How do I create an account, and why confirm my address?

An account is created with a username, an email address and a password of at least ten characters. A confirmation email follows: it proves the address is yours, and it is where the site’s emails are sent, including the one that lets you choose a new password. A confirmed address is required to vote in a poll, make predictions, take part in the forum, post or react on a wall, write a private message and like a comment.

Why am I asked for two-factor authentication?

It is required of every account that holds a right — managing a club, moderating, publishing on behalf of a club. Otherwise a guessed or reused password would be enough to take that right. You need an authenticator app on your phone; recovery codes are given during setup, keep them somewhere safe.

I received “Sign-in from a new device”: what should I do?

An account that holds a right is notified every time it signs in from an unknown browser. If it was you — a new browser, a new phone — there is nothing to do. Otherwise, the “This wasn’t me” link in the email closes every session and sends you what you need to choose a new password.

Write to the administrators using the contact form: they can reset your two-factor authentication after checking that it really is you. You will set it up again at your next sign-in.

Why is my login suspended, or my password refused?

After several failures, login is suspended: one minute at first, then longer and longer, up to an hour. The account, the network address and the identifier are each counted, so trying other combinations does not get around the suspension; it lifts by itself.

For the password, ten characters are not enough on their own. Refused are: a common password, even dressed up with digits or symbols, a keyboard or alphabet sequence, a password that contains your username, your address or your name, fewer than five different characters, and more than sixty-four characters.

Following and notifications 7

What happens when I follow a club, a competition or a player?
  • A followed club notifies you of the kick-off, goals and whistles of its matches.
  • A followed competition notifies you of the kick-off, goals and whistles of all its matches.
  • A followed player notifies you of each of his goals.

The “Follow” button is on the page of the club, the competition and the player; it requires an account. What you follow is listed in your account, with upcoming matches, latest results and the articles about them.

Where can I find my notifications?

When you are signed in, the bell at the top of the page counts what has happened to you that you have not read yet; it opens the latest notifications, and the “Notifications” page keeps them all, grouped by day, for ninety days. Everything that notifies you is archived there, whether or not you have allowed notifications in your browser.

My notifications

This answer is not enough

How do I choose what notifies me, and how?

In “Preferences”, each topic — followed matches, articles, classifieds, comments, messages, replies and questionnaires — is set per channel: browser notification, and email where an email exists. The notification on the site cannot be turned off: it is the archive.

Two emails are always sent: the new device alert, and the first private message received on a classified ad. Between members, a private message is never sent by email.

My notification preferences

This answer is not enough

Why am I not receiving any notifications on my device?

Browser notifications need your consent on each device: the button at the bottom of the page gives it. They are only linked to what you follow if you are signed in on that browser. Also check your preferences: a topic may be turned off for the browser there.

Whatever does not appear on the device stays in the site’s bell.

Can I receive a summary by email?

Yes: the daily digest is ticked in your preferences; it stays off until you ask for it. Every morning, it gathers the notifications that have been waiting for you unread for more than a day, and does not repeat what it has already summarised.

How do I add a club’s matches to my calendar?

The page of a club and that of a competition offer a subscription to their calendar, and the page of a match lets you add it to your calendar. A calendar you subscribe to updates itself when a match is moved.

How do I install golazo on my phone?

golazo installs from the browser, with no app store: Chrome and Edge offer “Install app”, Safari “Add to Home Screen”. The icon opens the site full screen and carries three shortcuts — Calendar, Competitions and Statistics.

On iPhone it is also the only way to receive notifications: Safari only delivers them to an installed app. golazo saves no pages, so it does not work offline.

Taking part 18

Who can comment, and who reads the comments?

Under an article and a match, everyone can read; you need an account to write. Under a classified ad, only signed-in members read and write. A comment can be edited and deleted by its author; a moderator can remove it.

Why is my classified ad not online?

Every classified ad is reviewed by a moderator before it is published, and again after each edit. You are notified of the decision; a rejection always comes with a reason, and can be corrected from your account.

How long does a classified ad stay published?

Sixty days from its approval. One week before it expires, you are notified, and “Extend” adds sixty days without a new review. A concluded ad can be marked as such: it stays readable through its link and leaves the list.

This answer is not enough

How do I reply to a classified ad without giving my address?

“Write to the author privately” forwards your message by email without showing your address. It is only given to the author if you tick the box provided. Do not write a phone number or an address in a public comment.

How do I vote in a poll?

You need an account with a confirmed address; each account votes once, and a vote cannot be changed. Without an account, you see how the votes are split. A closed poll shows its result.

I have been given a questionnaire: how do I fill it in?

A questionnaire assigned to your account opens once you are signed in, and can be found in your account. Your answers are saved and can be completed over several sessions. To submit it, you must answer at least three questions out of four; a last, optional box takes a remark. Once submitted, it can no longer be changed.

If it has a closing date, a reminder is sent to you four days before.

How do I predict a match?

Cup, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches open to predictions five days before kick-off and close one hour before. The “Predict” button then appears on the match and leads to its “Predictions” tab. You need an account with a confirmed address.

Four questions are asked, each optional: - the winner, or a draw; - the number of goals of the home club; - the number of goals of the away club; - the number of goals in the match.

Only the regulation-time score counts: extra time or a penalty shoot-out changes nothing. Your choices must be able to be right together — a club does not score more than the whole match. Until the deadline, they can be changed or withdrawn at no cost.

This answer is not enough

How are the points of a prediction calculated?

Each choice puts twenty points at stake, shared between what it earns if right and what it costs if wrong. The split follows the choice’s probability, drawn from both clubs’ recent form and their head-to-head record: an unlikely choice earns a lot and costs little, a safe one the reverse.

The points are shown before you choose, and they are the ones you get, even if the clubs’ form changes before kick-off.

My predictions

This answer is not enough

What happens to a prediction if the match does not take place, or its score is corrected?

A forfeit voids the match’s predictions: they neither earn nor cost anything. A match not played thirty days after its kick-off voids them too; if its score is entered later, they are settled anyway. A corrected score recalculates the points. In every case, a notification tells you.

This answer is not enough

How do I appear in the predictions ranking?

Your public name appears in the ranking as soon as you have enough settled predictions: that is the default setting, and it is your public name that appears, never your address. To hide it, untick “Show my public name in the predictions ranking” in “My predictions”: your predictions still count, you see your place, others do not.

The ranking covers a season or a month, and at least ten settled predictions in the period are needed to appear in it. A matchday, or a cup round, counts in full in the month of its first match. On equal points, more right predictions come first, then fewer settled predictions, then the period’s first prediction.

How do I start a discussion in the forum?

Anyone can read public discussions; discussions for members only need an account. To start one or reply to one, you need an account with a confirmed address.

Choose a category, a title of at least eight characters and a text of at least twenty. A reply can receive a reply, but no further. A moderator can pin or lock a discussion. You are notified when someone replies to you.

Why does a comment on an article or match also appear in the forum?

The first comment posted under an article or a match opens a discussion in the forum; later ones are added to it. Under the article or match, only the five latest comments are shown; “See the whole discussion in the forum” leads to all of them.

A discussion opened this way has no text of its own: it is the thread of comments. It disappears from the forum if the article is unpublished.

What is my wall, and how do I share something on it?

Every member has a wall, readable by signed-in accounts; its owner can also open it to visitors from their account. You post a text (1,000 characters at most), an image, or a piece of the site — classified ad, discussion, article, match — using the “Share on my golazo profile” link next to the share buttons. Shared content keeps its visibility: an ad reserved for members stays reserved.

You remove your own posts; a moderator can also remove a reported post. You will find your wall in your account.

How do I make my account private, and what happens then?

In your account you can make your wall private: only the members you have accepted can read it. Others can ask to follow you; the request waits for your answer, and you accept or decline it from your follow requests. A pending request is visible only to you and its sender.

How do I block a member?

From your list of blocked members you no longer see their content: their message in a discussion is replaced by “Message from a blocked member”, and they can no longer write to you privately. The list is private, and you can unblock at any time.

Are my private messages read by moderation?

No. Only you and the person you write to read them: neither moderation nor the administration looks at them, and they cannot be reported. A message is refused if its recipient has blocked you or turned messages off. Between members, a private message is never sent by email.

How do I report a piece of content?

Under every ad, comment, discussion, reply, wall post and profile, the “Report” link opens a form: choose a reason and, if needed, explain. Moderators examine the report and tell you their decision. For a private message, report the member from the conversation’s (i) panel, attaching the latest messages if you wish.

What are favourites and ad alerts?

A favourite keeps an ad at hand; an alert tells you when a new ad matches your search, up to ten alerts per account. Favourites and alerts are private: nobody else sees them.

What data does golazo keep, and how can I retrieve or erase it?

Your account, what you have written there — comments, forum discussions, wall posts, classified ads, messages, questionnaire answers —, what you follow, your votes, your predictions and your notifications. “My data” exports them to a file; “Delete my account” erases them. Where do the press articles and Instagram posts come from?

The “Press” section is a monitoring feed: the site finds articles about futsal published by Luxembourg media and keeps only the title, standfirst, image and link. The text stays with the outlet, and a site that protects itself against automated reading is never worked around.

The “On Instagram” posts are the latest from the accounts the clubs have listed on their page, and from golazo’s own account. The image is copied onto the site: nothing is loaded from Instagram, and the card leads to the original post.
